I'm terrible for advice, but here are some mistakes I made that I wish I would could of avoided.

-Tried on dresses too soon. As soon as DF and I chose our date, I went dress shopping. (Over a year in advance)
-During that appt, I was narrow minded with what I tried on.
-Easily influenced. After only trying on 2 dresses total, the consultant swore to me I "found the one". So I sealed the deal and bought it.

After looking at pics of me in the dress everyday, I decided how much I hated it and couldn't believe I bought it. David's Bridal offered a 60 day exchange policy as long as the next dress costs more than the original. (Can only exhange once) So I took an advantage of that and made a 2nd appt to try on more dresses. Found a dress online, but they didn't have it in store. Tried on one similar, but with lace (the one style I thought I didn't want) and fell in love. DF went with me that time and loved it too. Tried on a few others, but couldn't stop thinking about the lace dress. With that being said..

-Watching too much say yes to the dress 🤦. I have nitpicked this poor dress apart! Now I can't wait for alterations so we can add something to it.

To do over again, I would of went to more shops and tried on more dresses. Gave myself time to compare pictures and think things over, rather than being so impulsive. Maybe waited a little closer to my date too so I didn't have too much time to dwell or get bored of it. Oh well! Lol

    Hope this helped!

I went to my First dress appt on 10/26 and said Yes! I absolutely love how the dress complemented my body type ❣#IvyBridal

I said yes to the dress 2 weeks ago...and am still in love. I also love the ruffles. I tried on many ruffled ones as DB's. Ultimately chose this one becoz it was my desired silhouette and color that I found at a smaller boutique...

TRY ON EVERYTHING!! Listen to your gut and what makes you feel your absolute best. I must have tried on over 30 dresses, said yes to one because all of my bridesmaids were there and I felt a lot of pressure then realized when I got home that it definitely wasn’t the one. Ended up going with just my MOH and found my dress (pictured!)

I looked up dresses online first to see if there were any that I wanted to try on at the bridal salon

I also researched the bridal salons that I wanted to go to, each bridal salon carries different designers so I made sure to make appointments at different salons

I went to 3 different salons that each carried a specific designer, but had different dress samples. One salon had the dress I wanted to try on, the other didn't but both carried the same designer so if I were you, I would go to at least 2-3 salons, each probably has something different to offer and it's also fun feeling like princess in all the amazing gowns Smiley smile

And make sure to take as many photos as you can! Also videos, which I didn't do and regret. The more dresses you try on, you may forget how a certain dress you liked looked on you. I liked this one dress in person, but in photos it looked plain so I didn't pick it.

Also, one bridal salon had my dress sample in a beige color and I wanted ivory. It was hard to picture it being my dress with the wrong color. I know they can order it, but it's hard to buy something for me without actually seeing it in person. Luckily, another bridal salon had the dress sample in ivory and I fell in love with it. Also another reason to go to more than one salon.

    Good luck! Smiley smile

On top of what everyone else is saying, don’t be afraid to admit you were wrong if, down the road, you change your mind. Take your time to decide, think it over before making a decision. I made my first decision too hurriedly, and I was struck by the dress regret monster. I fixed it today by picking my new dress Smiley smile
