dress hunting Tips? & plz share your gown!!

I would look online for styles you like and down like to help narrow down your search. That saved me a ton of time! I ended up picking the second dress I tried on. Here it is

I started on Pinterest, but then I went to David's Bridal for a solo trip just to try on styles and shapes. My dress was from a designer line that David's Bridal carries, but its gorgeous. If you love ruffles, I recommend looking at this one.

Try on styles that you wouldn’t have normally picked! You may find out that you like something you thought you’d hate. Also, don’t let anyone talk you into trying on a dress out of budget. Made that mistake and spent $300 more than I wanted to. Enjoy the experience You only get it once!!

Be open to different styles. I went in thinking that I would have long sleeves, and came out with cap sleeves which I was thought I didn’t want. Try to keep it to just two or three people that go shopping with you. I felt so much more relaxed with only having my two best friends there.

This is my dress .... its a vintage find i sadly lodt the picture of me in it .... when my old phone broke but i have this .... and i am going to make it into a open corset back like in the second picture

My dress finally came in and I was able to go put it on this weekend. I am not a dress girl at all so this took time to find. This little mom and pop shop inwas referred to made the experience so much better than my first 2 stops....David's bridal being one of them. Keep the party with you small!

Try on all type-even ones you think you won’t like. I started with wanting empire waist but ended up in a drop waist/a line. I’d say I don’t want lace but one of my favorites had lace. And I had a budget that increased once I figured out bling cost more. ($300 more lol).

I tried on a bunch of dresses the other day and totally surprised myself! I thought I wanted a form fitting lace gown but I think I might actually go with a giant ball gown instead! My advice is take your best girlfriends and have fun! There’s nothing wrong with looking and don’t let the salesperson talk you into something you aren’t comfortable with! (I was expecting to pay $1000+ for my dress and I’m actually liking some in the $300 area more! Huge shocker there!)

I agree with everyone else. Look at all types of dresses. If you have a budget, stick to it!! Don’t let someone talk you into spending more than you can afford!! Oh also keep the number of people who go with you down!! Remember it you that have to wear the dress not them!! Also eat something before you go, dress shopping can be tiresome!!! I don’t have a good front view of my dress, but the last picture is what the back of my dress is going to look like when it’s bustled.

Don’t be afraid to tell the consultant how you feel about each dress. If you hate a dress that’s fine, tell them so you can eliminate stuff. Also tell them the exact details you like/don’t like about dresses because they know all the dresses they have and there may be a dress that combines everything you like. I knew going in I wanted a sheath dress and a detachable ballgown. At first the dresses they were bringing me I wasn’t a fan of because they only had ballgown sides not all the way around. My consultant ended up taking a full ballgown from one dress and adding it to a different sheath dress he had pulled based on the details I wanted and it was PERFECT! Just be vocal with them about what you like and want.

Best advice go and try on every different style of dresses because what you may imagine yourself wanting n wearing can be totally different once you try on the gown. ( I so imagine myself wearing a dress with sleeves it looked beautiful on the model wearing the dress in the picture but not on me.. So try other options on).

Also if you find a dress you really love but not sure if it's your dress go home n if you continue to think about it (that's what happened with me) sleep on it then go back the next day n put the dress back on and if it makes you happy n smile them say yes to your dresd💜

- Try on ALL the dresses. Try on all colors, fabrics, necklines, shapes, lace, beaded, satin, etc. Even if you don't think you'll like it, try it on just to rule it out.

- Go to at least 2 salons (preferably 3 or 4) so you don't feel like you just picked the first dress you saw. But no more than 2 salons in a day (more would be exhausting). Make sure to make appointments before going in.

- Do your hair & makeup (even if it's simple), it made me feel a lot better in the dresses.

- Eat a good meal before, trying on dresses is exhausting. Make sure you are hydrated & bring a water bottle.

- Take pictures so you can reflect at home for what looks best.

- Don't try on dresses out of budget. Period.

This was my dress. I went in wanting a beaded ball gown (maybe satin), and walked out with a lace mermaid!

I would say look at ideas on pinterest and create a board of your favorite looks. Have fun and even try on dresses you think you wouldn't like because sometimes once they're on you they look different. Here's my dress

This is my dress. I really like the flounced bodice. It hides some of my problem areas.
