Dress - Help!

Laceon, on February 24, 2022 at 9:44 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10
Hello everyone!

I'm in need of some guidance. I have attached pictures of the dress I tried on/purchased, the listing picture, and my vision for our wedding.
I'm starting to have post-purchase stress about my dress. I fell In love with it, but wanted to order it in all ivory, but it only came in nude/ivory. I posted the listing photo as well for comparison. The more I look At these pictures the more I get Stressed thinking it will look too pink and not enough white. Especially because of the vision im going for with black tuxes & bridesmaids dresses.
My two questions are...
1. Is there a way a seamstress could change the nude color to ivory?
2. If there isn't a way, do you think that my black and white theme would clash with my dress?
Thank you so much in advance! Dress - Help! 1Dress - Help! 2

    1. You would have to ask a seamstress if they are able to do that. I'm not sure myself.

    2. If they can't, I don't think that the colors will clash with your dress.

    Also, you look beautiful.

I don’t think it seamstress can change the color of your dress and it looks absolutely perfect it will not crashed whatsoever. I would leave it as is.

    Hi there,
First at all I love that dress, it’s one in my list! And you look great on it.
Nude is the new trend and I feel that it would go better with you blk/white theme. I was in NY last month trying dresses and all I heard was “you got to go with sexy NUDE” lol. I think you should go for it! 😉 I hope it helps!

I don't think it will clash at all! I think it will make you pop more.

Also if you could find someone to do it, you would essentially be rebuidling an entire dress which is never recommended.

I worked in bridal for 3.5 years. You can’t change the color. If you did, like Melinda said, it would be a total reconstruction and to be honest- it would likely never be the same. I wouldn't advise it. However, I really don't think it's going to clash with your theme! Black and white and nude are all neutral, and if you have any pictures outdoors, nudes champagnes and pinks tend to photograph much much lighter outside, basically reading as ivory. The lace on your dress just pops more!

I agree with everyone else! The dress is completely stunning, and you're stunning in it. It's still a beautiful neutral and will fit well with the vision you have! Nude is the new thing to be a little more flattering, as a lot of people can be washed out in straight white/ivory.

    Don't second guess it, it's perfect 💛

First of all, you look gorgeous in your dress.

You might be able to have a seamstress swap out the fabric, but I wouldn’t. I don’t think it clashes with your vision pictures at all and I think it will help you stand out more. Your dress is stunning and I think you should leave it as is!

So I dont Want the top half swapped out, I just Want the bottom of the dress to look more white. Is there anything I could Do to make that happen without reconstructing the dress?

You could have just the lining in the skirt replaced, but the side effect of that is that it’s going to make the top look even darker. I tried on a dress with a darker top a lighter skirt when I was looking for gowns that shows what the contrast can look like.

Someone just posted a photo of their dress on wedding wire forum. The top had a nude underlay but the bottom was ivory. I think it could be done tastefully!
