Dress freak out

Emily, on April 28, 2018 at 11:56 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 16
So I know this is normal, but I'm freaking out about the dress I bought. There are 2 I tried one. One I loved, it looked phenomenal on my body shape. But it didn't have any sparkle or embellishment (my basic idea is Snow Queen, think Chronicles of Narnia). Also, as I tried on more dresses I realized I really like trains, and it doesn't have one.

2nd dress I got chills upon putting on, but I was also tired and didn't go home and sleep on it. One of the people with me and my consultant were nearly rolling their eyes at me when I wasn't sure if it was the right dress.

Needless to say I am now driving myself insane. Do I cancel the one I ordered and keep shopping, buy the first one I keep thinking about even though it's missing a train or sparkle? I don't know, and I am losing sleep over it.

Note: pics are first me in the 1st one, me in my dress(not my size), 2 professional pictures of my dress because wow that was bad lighting.

Would adding a belt to the dress you tried on change your make you forget the second dress? If not, cancel the first. They are both really gorgeous. I totally understand the confliction!

So belt on the 1st pictured dress that doesn't have beading totally doesn't work, the lines and draping just don't work with a belt, we tried at the store. This isn't the dress I bought, but it is the one I keep thinking about despite the missing train and sparkle.

The dress I bought I don't think I can add a belt. There's really intricate beading along where the waste ends (it's drop waiste, so in the hip region). Unless there's something I am not seeing? But if I can't add a belt over existing beading, adding a belt definitely won't make me forget the dress I didn't buy. If that makes sense?

But I think you switched the dress I keep thinking about and the dress I purchased, because everyone said add a belt to the plain dress, which makes my 2nd confusing paragraph kinda moot.

I totally love the 1st one on you. Some people really pull off just a classic elegant dress without any beading...and you are one of them! Plus, you can add bling with necjlace/bracelet etc. Etc. Or a beauriful cathedral veil with beading on it like I got on Etsy for the "wow" in the back Smiley smile

Girlllll. I have had a lot of trouble deciding on a dress as well. In my opinion if you’re thinking about other dresses than the one you choose might not be it. Can you get your money back if you cancel? I would go back and try it on again if you don’t love it that’s okay. You can keep looking or if not maybe find a way to change up some elements. Maybe you’ll find something that adds the parts you like of both together? And I totally empathize with the feeling of people seeming to be done with you. I feel like that with some people in my bridal party. Like they all expected me to choose on the first day and I haven’t and now I’m being annoying because I can’t decide. It’s a hard decision and not every dress shopping experience is a TV show! I wish you the best of luck and you will make a beautiful bride!

They are both gorgeous gowns , but I do prefer number one. I can see how it was a hard decision though. You'll look beautiful no matter what!

The first dress is my favorite, though both are very pretty. But that first dress really shows off your shape and is so elegant. I think adding a necklace with sparkle will compliment the dress and your want for some bling. Go with your gut, girl!

If you aren’t completely sure about your dress and it isn’t too late, exchange/return it and keep shopping. I had serious dress regret until I found my second dress and have never had a doubt with this dress.

If you absolutely love the first dress you could add the bling to it and accessories (headpiece, jewelry).

Honestly, I like the second one better. I exchanged my dress because I had the same feelings and I’m so glad I did.

I prefer the 1st one. I also feel like you could go over the top snow queen with jewelry, embellished shoes, beaded gloves, or a glittery veil with that one. The second one is ok, the embellishments look snow queen but that would be it for me, I think it’s too busy to do some awesome jewelry. I think the 1st one is classic and clean and looks lovely on u.

Hands down the first one. Your veil and jewelry will make it pop. I am all for classic and elegant, and the fit looks really great on the first dress.
