Dress fitting

Cat, on January 9, 2020 at 4:00 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12
I am getting married 5.8.2020 and my dress isn’t coming in until mid February... I’m kinda freaking out. Should I make an appt for a fitting before I get the dress... please tell me some ladies have been through this. Thank you in advance

I am getting married In September and havn't even been shopping yet. I mean- if it comes in in May I don't think you should have anything to sweat about.

You should make an appointment before the dress arrives or you run the risk of not being able to get in.

You'll probably need alterations so I think making the appointment for March 1 or the first week in March makes sense!

You should have plenty of time. You can make the appointment now for when you anticipate having the dress. My wedding was in July and I had my 1st fitting in May, then went back in June, and then picked the dress up in July, a few days before the wedding.

I would go ahead and make an alterations appointment for the end of February/beginning of March to make sure you can get them done ASAP

Hi date twin! My alterations appt is scheduled 2/17. I would go ahead and schedule so you have an appt when it comes in. I think you till be fine if you do it end of feb or early March! All depends on how much work needs to be done. If its taken in a lot it will effect the length.

You have plenty of time, do not stress! My alterations lady told me that she doesn't even want us to start alterations until about 3 months prior to the date.

If you want to make an appointment just in case she books up, by all means of course. But that's a normal time frame. Smiley smile

If it's just for fitting, then wait till your dress arrives.

Girl, my dress won't come in until mid-February, and they promised me that there will be plenty of time before my April wedding. If you're worried about it though, call the salon and see if they can put a rush on it or see if you can find an alterations lady.

Yes! Go ahead and find a good person and get on their calendar that’s what i did and it took a lot of stress off. She told me to just let her know if my dress was delayed coming in and she could adjust my appointment! Also since they’ll be aware of the timeline for the wedding they can make sure to work yours in and get you done for your big day!

My dress just came in and I'm getting married in February. You don't want to start alterations more than 6-8 weeks out. Gives your body less time to fluctuate. My first fitting is on Saturday
