Dress Fitting

Rebecca, on June 21, 2021 at 4:31 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4

Hey y'all! So I got the call last week that my dress has finally come in (YAAAYYY) and I just scheduled my first dress fitting next week. Is there anything in particular I need to know or bring to my fitting (other than my shoes of course lol)?

Bring your shapewear if you'll be wearing it and if you plan on wearing a bra with your dress, bring that since different bras change your shape. Also, my bridal shop recommended not wearing makeup to fittings to eliminate the chance of getting makeup on your dress! I still ended up wearing mascara.

I forgot! If your have your accessories (veil, hair piece, jewelry, etc.) bring that to see how everything looks together on (if you have time during your appointment)

Yes bring ALL your accessories, just in case! I didn't bring my wrap/blanket thing and my alterations lady wanted to see that, which I wasn't expecting! Just having everything in a bag is helpful, so that if it IS needed you can pull it out.

Definitely bring any shoes...both ceremony and reception (if you plan to change).

During my fitting, I was making small talk about dancing during our reception. I'm a salsa dancer. Turns out that's helpful information for the bustle. The seamstress had me show her some moves so she had a better idea of what to plan for when creating the bustle/knowing which bustle would hold.

Additionally, if anything at all is bothering you about the fit of your dress, don't hesitate to talk to them. They want your dress to be perfect for you.
