Dress fitting attire

Jazmine, on July 22, 2020 at 12:00 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5
So I’m going for my first fitting next weekend, and I’m not sure what to wear underneath. I have a bigger chest, my dress is a spaghetti strap and has a low back. The friends I have asked all say strapless but I cannot find one. Does anyone have suggestions for brands?

If you have a low back you don't want to do a regular strapless bra because it will show in the back. I actually recommend asking the seamstress if they can sew in cups to support you, and also use boob tape for additional support. You can also do a google search for backless shareware and bunch of options will come up.

I second getting cups sewn in! Your seamstress will be able to make the dress fit you perfectly and the cups will stay in place unlike a strapless bra or backless shapewear piece. The last thing you want is to be be adjusting yourself constantly, which you can avoid with sewn in straps. Make sure you take the shoes you plan on wearing for the wedding so you can get the hem right. I also took my necklace to see how it looked with the dress and had the straps adjusted slightly to compliment my necklace.

I would definitely recommend having your seamstress build the support you need into the dress. It'll be more secure and it's one less thing to worry about. If you really want something separate, or you need a strapless bra for a different event, I would highly recommend going to a specialty lingerie store where they'll definitely have things in your size and getting fitted, even if you're confident you already know your correct size. I like Rigby and Peller, and if there isn't one close to you, there's probably something similar in your nearest city.

I believe the dress already has cups, I was wondering more about going for the actual fitting to get alterations done. But thank you!! I’ll look into shape wear too!
