Dress doesn’t fit my top

Rebekah, on September 6, 2019 at 6:16 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4
I purchased my dress over a year and a half ago. Plenty of time. I spent 2200$ on a very pretty and simple boho designer dress. I had them close the back with a zipper so i could be comfortable and wear a bra and the v neck line would allow me to nurse my 22 month old. I did 4 fittings every time they said you boobs need to be higher and me saying they just don’t go that high and then I’d buy new undergarments that were still inadequate.. the dress is beautiful except for the bust it just doesn’t fit. Even with to a of tape. I broke out in a rash from the tape and it’s so uncomfortable and everything i was trying to avoid by buying a simple boho dress. I spent an extra 700$ on 4 alterations on top of the 2200$ and another 400$ on bras and shape wear and tape and it still doesn’t fit right. I have two weeks left until we hit the road for the wedding. How bad would it be just to wear a simple linen jumpsuit and call it a day. I just want to feel like myself and be comfortable. I thought by spending obscene amounts of money i would have a really beautiful perfectly fitted dress. But i just don’t. I feel inadequate, foolish and ridiculous.

So disappointed

Do whatever makes you feel comfortable and beautiful on your big day. Unfortunately, the money is already spent on the dress and it can't be taken back. You have 3 choices; spend more money on alterations and hope that it fits, wear it the way it is and be uncomfortable, or buy an expensive jumpsuit and feel good.

Hey Rebekah! I'm so sorry that this has happened.

Do you feel that further alterations will help your dress fit you more comfortably? I know you have already spent a lot of money on your dress, but are you still hoping that it will fit right for your wedding? Since your seamstress has closed the back, would it be possible for them to add more material to the back so that it may cover you bust more?

If you feel like you would be more comfortable wearing a jumpsuit, then I totally understand. Have you seen any jumpsuits that you would like to wear for your wedding?

There’s nothing wrong with busty (unless it’s a full catholic wedding. With the Pope in attendance or whatever). I think the update pictures with the dress are pretty and the dress is very flattering. You’ll look lovely on your wedding day Smiley smile I’m glad they were able to at least do SOMETHING to make it better.
