Dress concern, can't alter, cant sit

I bought my dress last July and I loved it, still do. At the time I didn't think about sitting, or moving in it, no issue when just standing. I fit in the sample size but ordered 1 size larger because it was slightly snug. Dress came in and I tried it on and it was a bit snug at the hips & thighs...

I bought my dress last July and I loved it, still do. At the time I didn't think about sitting, or moving in it, no issue when just standing. I fit in the sample size but ordered 1 size larger because it was slightly snug. Dress came in and I tried it on and it was a bit snug at the hips & thighs and I realized I can't sit, bend, take large steps, and I don't think I can lift it above my hips incase nature calls. At alteration I was advised the lining has enough to take it out 1/2 and inch but the outer lace lining is one piece with no real seam so not possible to let that out. The lady doing the alterations didn't think it needed to be let out. I love how curvy it makes me look and would never consider changing it or switching but not sure what to do. I am going to try and lose some more weight but the last few pounds all seem to be from my torso which is not helping as dress is a corset back. Any suggestions on what I can do? Do I really need to sit? Only 1 month to go.

Oh that's a tough one! I would want to at least sit for a few minutes at a time...especially dinner. The dress looks amazing on you though!! Good luck. Sorry no advice from me.

At this point, can you exchange for a larger size? I couldn't imagine not freely moving on our day. I was dancing, sitting, standing, etc. You don't want to spend your whole day focused on not moving. What if, not thinking, you plop down and RIP your dress in the middle of your wedding???

Can you lift the dress up a little bit at the hips when you go to sit? or will that mess the top up? if you are sitting behind a table no one would see especially with the lace layers

I understand this is an old post but if you pull the dress up a few inches at the hips it will allow you to sit. My alteration lady taught me this because I was having the exact same panic attack over it. It worked out amazingly!
