Dress at ceremony and party

Shannon, on December 30, 2019 at 12:55 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3
My fiance and I will be eloping in May in NYC. We're then having a casual party three weeks later back home. So many of our family members want me to wear my dress to the party. First, is that weird for a casual bbq party? If I do, should I have the dress cleaned in between the events and then again after the party? Or just once after everything?

I don't think it's weird to wear your dress! If you're not comfortable with it, you could always bring photos from the element to the bbq. Unless you spill a blue slushie on your dress after the elopement, i would wait until after the bbq to get it cleaned.

I would so wear your dress! Unless it’s visibly dirty and you’re ok with it, I would not get it cleaned twice. Depending on how you store it for those three weeks it may just need some steaming/ironing!

    Hey there, Shannon.

If you're comfortable wearing your dress, go for it Smiley smile You could even wear it for the first hour or so and change then if you liked!

I would see what condition it is in after the elopement and then decide whether or not to get it cleaned. A simple spot clean here and there may be sufficient!
