I am torn between having a petticoat or not having one. The dress is so princess-y with it which is my dream, but so flow-y without it. It's gorgeous either way which doesn't help. Both mine & my fiance as well as mine & my dad's dances are choreographed and I'm scared the dances will be...

I am torn between having a petticoat or not having one. The dress is so princess-y with it which is my dream, but so flow-y without it. It's gorgeous either way which doesn't help. Both mine & my fiance as well as mine & my dad's dances are choreographed and I'm scared the dances will be messed up with the dress being big and poofy from the petticoat. I wanted to wear it under the dress for the ceremony and take it off for the reception but my seamstress will hem the dress shorter without the petticoat but hem it longer with the petticoat. I'm struggling.. I have the rest of the year to make up my mind but I still need help. PLEASE HELP!!! Has anyone found it harder to move around with a petticoat under a ballgown or is it the same? I've only worn the dress for 30-40 minutes at a time so I can't really make up my mind.. I added pictures for reference. (I made my own veil so the one pictured isn't mine. I can post pictures of that later on if anyone is interested Smiley smile )

I vote for the petticoat! I have one and I love how it gives it that extra poofyness. Makes me feel extra princessy. It didn't effect my dancing either

Just an opinion from my experience. I had a fit and flare and wore a peti coat. I pulled it down when I went to the bathroom and couldn’t get it back up so finished the last of the reception with it off. My dress cling to my legs and went between them. I was sweaty so it was sticky.
The peticoat gave me room to walk and move my legs. My dress was so much more comfortable with it. We didn’t have a choreographed dance, but I had no problems dancing my booty off!

First of all, your dress is gorgeous, so sparkly! I like it with the petticoat better, but I'm a sucker for a big skirt. Also, what petticoat are you using? that's the look I'm going for and I'm having a hard time finding one that creates enough poof.

I vote petticoat, but definitely go with whatever you’re more comfortable with.

Thank you! I needed info on the dancing part! That was my biggest concern.

Thank you so much! I am using a 6 hoop petticoat. You can find them on Amazon for about $18! Smiley laugh I found one on Aliexpress for $7.29 but I've never bought from there and I'm not sure how good their quality is. Get the one without ruffles on it because that will make the dress look choppy.

Here is an example! (:Dress Assistance!!! Petticoat or no petticoat?!?! 1

I like it with the petticoat. It seems to hold the shape of the dress better.

I would definitely go with the petticoat. After seeing it with it the dress doesn't look right without it to me
