Dress Assistance!!! Petticoat or no petticoat?!?!

I am torn between having a petticoat or not having one. The dress is so princess-y with it which is my dream, but so flow-y without it. It's gorgeous either way which doesn't help. Both mine & my fiance as well as mine & my dad's dances are choreographed and I'm scared the dances will be messed up with the dress being big and poofy from the petticoat. I wanted to wear it under the dress for the ceremony and take it off for the reception but my seamstress will hem the dress shorter without the petticoat but hem it longer with the petticoat. I'm struggling.. I have the rest of the year to make up my mind but I still need help. PLEASE HELP!!! Has anyone found it harder to move around with a petticoat under a ballgown or is it the same? I've only worn the dress for 30-40 minutes at a time so I can't really make up my mind.. I added pictures for reference. (I made my own veil so the one pictured isn't mine. I can post pictures of that later on if anyone is interested )

Why not wear the petticoat for the ceremony and pictures, then take it off before the heavy dancing?

That's what I wanted but If she hems the gown to fit the petticoat, it'll be too long for the dancing part and I'll possibly trip over it D:

While I do like the look with the petticoat, I think it should be your decision based on how well you can move with and without it. My petticoat is more A-line but I am thinking I will remove it for the reception so it's not in my way. If you can dance with it on, then it would be more about the look.

Yes that is exactly where I'm struggling. I have an appointment tonight to try it on with the veil I made so I'll try and move around in it a lot more than usual.

I vote petticoat! I'm wearing a mermaid gown that has a really full skirt but skill opted for a petticoat under the skirt to make it bigger. I love the way dresses look with petticoats!

I say wear the petticoat. You’re right it’s gorgeous both ways. And I had the same difficulty with this decision. However, I mad the decision to wear one because it’s much easier to walk with the petticoat. The dress holds it’s shape better rather than folding between my legs.

With petticoat! Once I’ve seen it with the petticoat it looks, to me, unfinished without the petticoat.
