Double the Dates, Double the States, Double the Celebrations

Lauren, on July 12, 2020 at 12:01 AM Posted in Planning 0 3

With everything going on my fiancé and I are trying to figure out what are next steps are. We are at 86 persons confirmed attending our wedding in Northern California in Oct. of this year so far and with the way things are going we are above the amount of people where we are technically allowed.

My family and a chunk of my friends live in California and my fiancé's family and all his friends live in Las Vegas. We are now strongly considering breaking up the wedding celebrations. The tentative plan right now is do a wedding and reception in Las Vegas in Sept. with his family, our Vegas friends and my immediate family. Then we will have a California celebration on our original date with his immediate family, our California friends and my family. This will help us keep our numbers down and everyone will still be able to attend. I realize this is double the work but we are trying to work around everything. We are also are creating creative masks to make mask wearing more fun.

Do we sound crazy yet? haha

I think that makes sense so that you don’t have one giant event that you might not be able to have because of capacity limitations

This makes sense too since guests won’t have to worry about traveling...only you and your fiancé.

I like this idea Lauren, and I think it makes perfect sense! Smiley heart It breaks the big event down into two smaller safer celebrations, and eliminates all guest travel concerns!

I've had several friends have bridal showers in two locations for similar reasons (one at home with family and family friends, one where they live now with their friend group). I also think it's smart to have the 1st celebration the month before, so everyone can be more than 14 days past the last event.
