DOUBLE BOOKED MY RECEPTION VENUE!!!!

So my wedding is over a year away 9/10/11 and the manager from our venue just called and said she wanted to apologize. Of course I was so confused bc I had no idea what she was talking about and she then proceeded to say the venue was double booked and we would have to move our date. So I'm not...

So my wedding is over a year away 9/10/11 and the manager from our venue just called and said she wanted to apologize. Of course I was so confused bc I had no idea what she was talking about and she then proceeded to say the venue was double booked and we would have to move our date. So I'm not moving my date but I'm so angry...I had my heart set on that place for years now...now its back to square 1

    I agree with everyone when they who's to say they wouldn't forget other details, so thats why my FH and I agree its just better to choose some where else.

    I'm so glad everyone is responding to this...actually it makes me feel better Smiley smile You guys are great and its nice to know other people can relate. Thanks again girls. It felt really good to vent.

    Im sorry that happened to you. I found out that my date was double booked after switching venues in April, luckily, the other party that was booked was thinking about moving to the weekend anyways and were nice enough to let us have the day. My venue felt horrible about what happened so when everything was straightened out, they took $600 off of our bill. I do understand that people get busy and mistakes happen....its was unfortunate what happened, but its not the end of the world...there's other venues out there and at least you are still getting married Smiley smile

    If you don't get the money back on Thursday, I would haul their a$$ into small claims and make sure it's a matter of public record. Since they only told you over the phone, I'd serve them with a summons on Thursday but that's only my opinion for what its worth.

    OMG thats terrible especially since that is such a popular date because of the 9..10..11.. increments.
