Donut Walls: Into It or Over It?

Donuts themselves will never be out of style as a dessert - because they're delicious, duh! But how do you feel about the donut wall trend that has taken over pinterest? Over it. Just doesn't seem as sanitary.

OVER IT. Food Hygiene man. I have kids coming to my wedding, kids have wandering hands, they'd have touched half the donuts by the time it came to eating them...

Over it! Like many have pointed out the more I think about the germs the less I like it.

Over it - while i love non-traditional desserts, and don't really like cake, this is a trend i never really got. Why are we hanging doughnuts? for display? Idk, i just never really understood it.

Totally into it and we have a beautiful donut wall that was lent to us from another couple. It even lights up! Our caterer will put the donuts out when she puts the cake out, they will not be on display all day. I cannot wait for our guests to see it, we haven't been to a wedding with one yet!

Totally into it!! Love the idea and the uniqueness of it. I initially was going to have a donut wall (and still might), but the restaurant we are using is going to serve them from their airstream food trailer instead. They bake them fresh on sight and serve to guest when ready at "cake cutting" time. If we have left overs I'm thinking about putting those on a donut wall but not one with the pegs. Theirs has shelves so the icing or toppings don't slide / melt off. So so excited for our guests to taste them at our wedding!!

So my cousin had one at his wedding because his now-wife makes donuts for a living. It was the cutest thing, and I didn’t realize it was a trend.
As for all the comments pointing out the icing melting, bugs, germs, etc. None of that came to mind when I saw the wall, and none of that happened. I do believe the wall donuts were supposed to be just decoration because they had stacks of donuts on a table nearby. But wouldn’t bugs or melting icing be a problem on a cake, too?

I guess I’m not as high-maintenance as I thought because even after every one’s negative opinions, I’m still in to it!

Nope. There's just something really offputting about it.

I think it's really cute, I'm into it. But at the same time, I understand the gross thought of them sitting out and people touching them.

Over it!!! I don't like the idea of the donuts hanging on wood sticks.... are the sticks clean? Have others been touching the donuts? I have a large guest count... I don't want all of those donuts up there. It's too much.

It’s disgusting. Put them in boxes if you’re going to have them. They’ll be melted or stale by the time people actually get to eat them.

Over it - the thought of food sitting out for a long time or like... bugs and stuff.

I prefer bowls with scoops for sweets . (which is what i'm doing for our wedding)

It's cute, but they would get hard and who wants to head a hard doughnut?

Ew. That's all I have to say. It doesn't look appealing in any way to me.
