Donut Bar!

Gaby, on April 18, 2018 at 8:06 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 32
Who is having a donut bar? How many guests are you having and how many donuts are you getting?
We are thinking about having them as a snack before dinner starts, but can’t decide if we should get 80 donuts (1 per guest) less or more?

What I was told is it should be 1.5 per person. Some won't eat while others will take 2 -3.

Im not having a donut bar per se but my centerpieces will be donuts on cake stands. Tables sit 12 people and we're having 15 donuts per table, so we can stack them upin rows of 5-4-3-2-1 donuts. Whatever doesn't get eaten at the reception gets to be taken home as favors. 😊

We're going to have mini donuts as a late night snack and they will double as a favor. I'm planning two per person.

We are doing a donut bar with cute take home bags in place of favors. We invited approximately 160ish guests, ordered 16 dozen (192) donuts. Considering going up a little on the donut count depending on our RSVPs

Before dinner? I don’t think I would touch one, but I prefer savory items in general. I do like donuts but as a morning or late night option.

We did a flaming donut bar (donuts sautéed in rum and butter and lit on fire) it was a huge hit! Our caterer supplied them so maybe ask your caterer what they recommend

We had fun donut holes as a late night snack for our guests. We did a whole bunch of random flavors (blueberry pancakes, maple, etc) and more "normal" (glazed, jelly filled, etc). They were such a hit. We did 400 donut holes for 80 guests and had at least 60 leftover (froze them and had them for snacks for the past couple of months). People loved them and started patronizing the local business we got them from (WW convinced me to go with supporting local business over that of DD who wouldn't even deliver!).

We are doing a donut bar! There is this really great bakery in FH and I's home town that makes amazing donuts! We are decorating donut boxes we bought off papermart as our favor since edible favors seem to be the winner for favors! We are having around 220 guests, and getting around 150 donuts because the three people I've talked to who have had weddings recently have said that they ordered one dessert (cupcakes, donuts) per guest and had WAY too many left overs. At my FSIL wedding she said only around 30 of the 200 cupcakes were eaten. However, we are also ordering around 75 sugar cookies from our local grocery store because I'm obsessed with them!
However I would just talk to your caterer or friends and family who have been married and see how much if their provided dessert was actually eaten and go from there!

We are getting donuts instead of a cake. I believe we ordered 120 donuts for about 100 people.

We are doing donuts as a late night snack! We are having about 60 guests so probably 80 donuts to make sure everyone has what they want.

I built a giant donut wall that holds 88 donuts. I'll post after our wedding on the 5th! We went to this trendy donut shop for our order and got a wide variety and are using this as our dessert with a small tiered cake for me and my fiancé to cut. We have 116 guests and got 100. We will also be having snores so there will be enough sweets. Every wedding I have been to there has always been so much dessert left over

YUM! I recommend 2/person. Personally, I could eat 10 myself, lol.

I don't know that I would personally eat them before dinner, I would probably be more inclinded towards crudite, cheese/crackers, etc for cocktail hour. A donut would most likely ruin my dinner.
