Don't want to spray tan...

sandra, on April 22, 2014 at 4:56 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

My wedding will be in April 2015 and I'm pretty pale during that time. I don't think I want to go tanning, because it's not safe and I don't think I want to spray tan, because I've heard horror stories and my fiancé doesn't like the smell. Does anyone have any suggestions for something I don't know about?

Then don't. People have been getting married without tans for hundreds of years...

You could use lotion like Jergen's Natural Glow. Other than that, I don't know. Consider getting an ivory or off-white dress too.

When it comes to a tan, the only way that I get color is a spray tan. The smell is there before you wash it off, but then it's gone for good. I don't go to the machine, I get somebody to spray the tan on, and it's an organic spray tan, it looks natural. Maybe you should try one that the person actually sprays on you.

Well, you could always not tan, and then use bronzer to show off your, ahem, assets. Lol.

I agree, embrace the paleness! perhaps use a really subtle lotion or powder with some gleam or shimmer on certain areas, or a little bronzing powder on certain areas and leave it at that!

    Three choices:

    1. Embrace the white

    2. Try out spray tanning WAY ahead of time - you smell for a short time to get a nice glow - tell FH to hold his nose Smiley smile

    3. Use tanning lotion. I've used Banana Boat's sunless tanning lotion. It's great!

Embrace the white, or Jergens natural glow daily a couple weeks before. Those are the choices I'm sticking with! Told FH that he and I need to be extra careful and pour on the sunscreen for at least a month before. He's redheaded and freckled, and I'm just pale!

You only smell the spray tan for the 8 hours you let is set for - it's not that bad. Get an airbrush tan, and they will ensure it is sprayed on evenly and nicely. You let it set for 8 hours, then shower. smell is gone after that. I just got an airbrush tan this past weekend and am loving it! I'll be going back two more times before the wedding...

Thanks for the advice everyone! I think I'll end up embracing the white! Smiley smile My dress is natural, so that will help.

Embrace the white! I practically glow in the dark but tanning is not an option for me and I've never tried spray tanning. My dress is ivory so I don't look like a complete ghost.

I'm anti-tanning.When people comment about how pale I am I always think "hmm, tell me something I don't know!" Like why is my skin tone always a point of conversation. Annoying. I'll have less wrinkles than all of them, muahaha!
