Yes this is a pandemic and it is scary. I see a lot of brides worried recently with upcoming weddings and I am so sorry that this is one more stressor to your big day. I hope I do not come off rude rather optimistic. There are those that are with the virus but many that are overcoming it. If you venue has cancelled on you or travel prohibits your wedding or honeymoon then I am so sorry and I hope you are able to re-book soon or get your money back. I think you ladies put a lot of work into your weddings and should keep forward unless you or your groom have it. The day is about you two so don't let cancellations bring you down. Many of people are still traveling and living life. It is natural to be scared during a time like this but as hard as it may be still feel excited about your wedding and do not stress the unknown as there is a good chance your day will still happen and will still be amazing. I hope all the brides worried keep going and keep their wedding dates as planned. Sending happiness and positive vibes to all you ladies.

Luckily I got credits and refunds so it wasn’t too bad. And like you, my wedding is local and I only have 5 people who are supposed to fly in. So far one canceled and the others say they’re still ago. I’m trying to stay positive and hopefully everyone on here has the day they dreamed of!

I hope so too and of course I don't want to come off rude I just don't want the bride's freaking out of the what ifs. I think it's great that you still have your full wedding and at the end of the day I just think we should remember that the importance of the day is US marrying our loved one and that is what we should focus on. I'm sorry for any bride that has experienced a cancellation from the venue and hopefully they don't have to postpone too long cuz I can understand the disappointment of that. I still think you'll have an amazing day and whenever you're able to you and your fiance will definitely have a great honeymoon.

    May 1st, 2021!

I like the date better already! Plus it will be warmer and more spring. We will still be married civilly this April, so the most important part will still be done. Then as long as no travel bans we will still go to Hawaii!

Hi there! Just wanted to throw another idea out there...do you have an Employee Assistance Plan (EAP) through your employer? Oftentimes they provide at least a few free sessions with a therapist and you can even chat with a couple first to find a good fit. I'm just wondering with the current situation if they would be more willing to even have a phone session. I empathize with your situation. It is such a breakthrough to make the decision to seek help and a complete letdown when you can't access it. I hope it all works out and you get what you need.

Thanks. I have a call to my insurance to see what they will cover first. It sounds like they will cover one a found, the only problem is they are about an hour away, but I know it will be good for me to go. I have plenty of time I can use to take off to go. It's more of a frustration type thing right now. And the nurse I spoke with at the hospital seemed kind of not mad but upset that I was calling to try to get in or at least get a referral somewhere. I know it's a stressful time for them. But it was definitely not what I needed at that moment.

A wedding is a big day and stressful. Corona or not I think most brides will be less stressed once they go on their honeymoon. I hope everything works out for you and you have a great day and honeymoon.

It's nice to hear such a level-headed and positive post about the uncertainty with gatherings and potential travel or other disruptions. So far it's full steam ahead barring any major travel disruptions where I'm at in the US (only a couple of confirmed cases from ppl travelling from other places). We are prepared to have the conversations we need to with vendors as it gets closer to the day. Since quite a few of my family, as well as myself, have a medical/scientific background and are less worried about the spread of cases impacting the wedding.

It is nice to hear someone from the science/med background confirming that it is okay to not be so worried. It is pandemonium in my city. Toilet paper is sold out even online. I wonder why. Luckily as a teacher I stock up on hand sanitizer and cleaning supplies even in my home ha ha. I believe we should take precautions but it sucks to live in fear too. I hope your wedding goes as planned and it is still an amazing day.

For the moment isn’t looking good. My family in Europe can’t travel because of the travel ban.

Yikes! Yeah, you’re mindset is awesome and hopefully we all remember what common sense is, haha.

Thank you for the well wishes for wedding planning! We are hoping it will go smoothly too!

They are finding that it isn't really affecting young children, which is strange and great at the same time. Not sure how that generalization applies to compromised children as I haven't read any literature about that just yet.... All the same, be safe!
