Yes this is a pandemic and it is scary. I see a lot of brides worried recently with upcoming weddings and I am so sorry that this is one more stressor to your big day. I hope I do not come off rude rather optimistic. There are those that are with the virus but many that are overcoming it. If you venue has cancelled on you or travel prohibits your wedding or honeymoon then I am so sorry and I hope you are able to re-book soon or get your money back. I think you ladies put a lot of work into your weddings and should keep forward unless you or your groom have it. The day is about you two so don't let cancellations bring you down. Many of people are still traveling and living life. It is natural to be scared during a time like this but as hard as it may be still feel excited about your wedding and do not stress the unknown as there is a good chance your day will still happen and will still be amazing. I hope all the brides worried keep going and keep their wedding dates as planned. Sending happiness and positive vibes to all you ladies.

Kristen! You're awesome!! This site has helped me so much when I'm panicking about my wedding.

Some tips for other brides like me who are freaking out:

I am definitely scared people will cancel so I made a list of people I thought would come anyways (local or driving distance) to give me my possible lowest number which ended up not being too bad.

I made a section on my website telling guests to change their RSVP if they need to and to reach out to us!

I emailed my venue and they are business as usual and told me if my number is lower than expected they will work with me on costs. So that's some good news!!

I encourage y'all to speak out with venue/vendors and your guests. We are in this together!

We just had a discussion about this. Our wedding is in Gatlinburg April 4th. My FH said unless we are completely not allowed to travel weare still going. We may not get to go out to she shops and things like that, but he would still have the best time because he is marrying me. We could just cook at the cabin and spend all our time there. We have an amazing view with a hot tub so it wouldn't be bad

Oh that is great the venues will work with you and that your guest list will still be a good size. I can imagine this is scary to have such an important life event during this issue. Great advice about reaching our to the vendors and guests.

You seriously give the best no holds barred advice! Thank you for your post. I ended up canceling because my parents are in a country that has a travel ban to the US. But I completely understand how brides moving forward feel and am excited for them. Everyone has been so understanding regarding the cancellation/postponement and worrying about me and I have to say I really love my family and friends.

I’m with you on this my wedding is on 3/21 as well and I keep telling myself everything will be okay. We have already changed venues due to rain! My biggest concern at the moment is the honeymoon some of our honeymoon plans have already be altered due this virus!

So far my venue said they’re not closing. But I had to cancel my cruise and then my trip to Denver so now we’re trying to figure out a plan c for our honeymoon. 😔 hopefully you’re plans don’t have to change!

I hope so too. This whole situation sucks. Like I literally am having issues with my PTSD from some things that happened. I can't get into my doctor because they are overbooked right now. The soonest they can get me in is April. My therapist moved to another state and the place I was going to literally told me that people are coming in because of anxiety from this. It's really hard for me to take this because for the longest time I didn't want help or know how to ask for help for this. I finally do and I am basically am being denied and turned away. The anniversary of what caused my PTSD is coming up so my anxiety is higher than normal.

I try to lol. I am sorry you had to postpone and it's frustrating the travel bans. Glad your family and friends were understanding. When will your new date be?

I'm glad your wedding is still able to go but I am very sorry about having to cancel the honeymoon as I'm sure that is very disappointing. Were you able to get a refund or at least a credit to reschedule? My wedding is in November so I'm foreseeing that all of this will be taken care of by then. Although my situation is different than many brides wear as my wedding is local and really we're just eloping with a couple of friends so I do realize that I have a stressful situation than most Brides.

I am so sorry. Yeah there are a lot of people that are anxious and it does suck that everything is getting over books to where someone like you that could really use a session it sounds like, and I hope I don't sound disrespectful by saying that, really need one. That is the only situation about the pandemic is that people that probably should not become Sardar. For example I don't understand how stores are out of toilet paper. I really do hope that everything does work out well for you and I hope that you are able to maybe get an appointment with your therapist. Definitely at this point please lean on your fiance more than ever to get you through the PTSD.

I have been and he has been so great. But I know I need help right now. It just sucks. I am going to call around and talk to my boss and see if she has any recommendations too. It was a workplace incident so I can lean on my coworkers too. The feeling of not being able to get help when I'm asking has been the hardest for me to deal with. I don't even really want like medication or anything; I just want the help I normally get.

Your concerns are very valid and trust me I can imagine that at a time when you really need help it's unavailable. I'm glad that you least have a good team of support to get you through this but I think it is a great idea to ask your boss if she has the other recommendations. Someone has to be available.

I hope so. She kind of like knows everyone where we are so if anything maybe she can pull a few strings. Wedding planning has always been a way to distract my mind and help. But right now it's really not. Thanks for your advice.
