doing a chalkboard seating chart. anyone else?

Abiti, on March 4, 2012 at 11:43 PM Posted in Planning 0 16

I wont lie. June is coming by fast and I cannot believe its 3 months till my wedding. I am lazy when it comes to thinking about seating charts, so FH came up with a cute idea (so proud of him) to have framed chalkboard seating charts. I think its sooo cute. I am soo excited everything is coming together. I wanna be married tomorrow now..LOL Anyone else doing this?

I'm doing mine on a french memo board, but I think that idea is adorable, and you'll be able to re-use the chalkboard!

Not yet, my mom has been making it from ivory satin with coral and aqua ribbons and pears and rhinestones, I'll definitely be posting a pic when it's complete though! Smiley smile

Just make sure that whoever is responsible for setting up the chalkboard doesn't smudge it. Maybe use white paint pens instead? You can always repaint over it after with chalkboard paint to make it blank again.

You can take an old frame, ( or find one on clearance at a craft store that does custom framing etc ) and a smooth piece of wood ( painted with chalk board paint ) and then a chalk marker and do it that way... definitely an awesome Idea AND a way for FH to get involved

We're pretty short on table space in our venue, so I plan to do something like this.

As someone who just recently decided to assign tables, I am totally stealing this. Thanks for the idea!
