Taking our baby to the vet tomorrow. 3 year old Am staff. He had an ear infection in his ear a couple months ago. He started flapping again and scratching at his ears and licking his paws. We looked in his ears, the left looked pink and clean while the right ear was filled with black gunk. Anyone...

Taking our baby to the vet tomorrow. 3 year old Am staff. He had an ear infection in his ear a couple months ago. He started flapping again and scratching at his ears and licking his paws. We looked in his ears, the left looked pink and clean while the right ear was filled with black gunk.

Anyone else experience this with their dog?

ETA: we treated previous ear infection with some stuff we had to shoot in his ear from the vet

    Yes, my boxer had horrible allergies that caused her to get the worst ear infections. Allergic to just about everything poor thing.

    My labradoodle gets this all the time! It's a type of yeast infection. It's usually prone to dogs that have ears that to down (as opposed to perky). He swims a lot too. But we have to use an ear wash on him 3x a week and then an antibiotic in his ear once a day. He gets them very frequently though. But it's not too bad to treat
