Doesn't Like Cats or Dogs - Red Flag or Deal Breaker?

Indifferent about cats, but definitely a deal breaker if he doesn't like dogs. Good thing he does, and we have 2 furbabies.

Deal breaker if he doesn't like dogs. I have my dog that I adopted prior to my relationship with my FH. I told my FH that we are a package deal. My dog I think loves my FH more than me some days lol,

Definitely a deal breaker! We have fur babies, and I am a huge animal person. We wouldn't have gotten this far if he hadn't liked pets.

Doesn't like cats is fine (actually better than if really loves cats since I'm allergic!) but not liking dogs is major deal breaker.

I have two dogs; they are my babies. My childhood dogs were always inside dogs and a big part of our family. I would never rehome my dogs because my partner didn't like them. I think we have really bonded over how much we love our dogs so I suppose it would be a deal breaker. We always jokingly say that if someone doesn't like dogs, we don't trust them.

Deal Breaker!! Must love cats. FH and I love cats, he always sends me cute cat gifs to cheer me up after a bad day. We each have our favorite “celebrity youtube cats” and every time he or we go to the arcade he always wins me a stuffed cat.

He didn’t used to love cats until he met mine(he passed away this year), he was the warmest, most loving creature he ever met. He’d go sit in your lap if he sensed you were sick or sad then headbutt your forehead like “Hey I’m here” he was a very sensitive cat, always got his feelings hurt if he didn’t get enough pets that day. I miss him so much. FH misses him too.

One day when we move into a place that allows pets we’ll get a cat. FH wants to name it Burger(boy) or Princess Meatball(girl)...going to love vet visits with those names! 🤣

We have a dog, FH is allergic to cats and also hates them.. I wish we could have a cat as well BUT oh well.

Deal breaker. I got my cats before we got engaged

It would matter. My pets are my family. I had one cat, who has sadly passed very recently, and he had a cat...even our cats got along.

Deal Breaker. Hands down!

That would be a HUGE deal breaker for me! I love animals and could not imagine my life without any pets. I'm so lucky that FH is as big of an animal lover as I am!

Pets would be a deal breaker for me.

FH was not a cat person when we met. He constantly said he was "allergic". I had a cat, Zelda, who was older and stayed at my mom's when I moved in with him. FH didn't really care for her, but when she was sick he came over and helped me take care of her. When we moved into our house he eventually said "I guess we can get a cat" and I kind of brushed it off. Then one day he was like oo I'm surprised we don't have a cat already after I said that... Well, I didn't know it was that serious so the next weekend we went out and picked up our Cali Cat. I let him pick her out and OMG he loves that cat! LOVES the cat! and the cat loves him! Every night she climbs up onto his chest and lays there putting her face in his beard and gets pet for like 20 minutes... I get shoved off the side of the bed and discarded. If i try and pet her she goes to bite me! On Easter we were at my mom's and my Zelda kitty was acting all weird. She laid on the floor and let FH pet him for like 15 minutes and 2 weeks later she passed away. FH just said how happy he was to give her the best pets of her life on Easter. We eventually will have a dog and maybe 1 more cat in the house. We both love animals so much!
