Does your engagement ring color mean anything?

For those of you who have a colored stone/gemstone for your engagement ring, is there a meaning behind that color? Many gemstones represent something symbolically or it could be purely the fact that it's your favorite color.I have a ruby engagement ring and I was dead set on it. Ruby is my birthstone. Most of my jewelry tends to be red and I just love the boldness of it in general. I wanted a ring I could identify with.

My amethyst. My favorite color is purple and thus my engagement ring had to be in my favorite color! It's also my fiance's favorite color!

We got emeralds in mine! There's actually a funny meaning behind them; I graduated from Baylor University, and their colors are green and gold. So since we already decided on yellow gold for the metal, hubs decided to add emeralds to represent my college, lol.

Emerald

My ring is emerald and it holds several meanings for us. It is my favorite color, probably because my favorite movie of all time is The Wizard of Oz, so it's a nod to the Emerald City. But going even deeper, it is tied to my heritage. My family is from Ireland (aka The Emerald Isle) and my last name (O'Haillin) even roughly translates to "green pastures."

I actually do not have a different colored stone, I just have a CZ ring. (Which I love) But I must say OP, your ring is just gorgeous!

Yes! My parents have had a long and happy marriage and so I wanted my ring to have emeralds, like my mother. I thought it would be lucky
