For those of you who have a colored stone/gemstone for your engagement ring, is there a meaning behind that color? Many gemstones represent something symbolically or it could be purely the fact that it's your favorite color.I have a ruby engagement ring and I was dead set on it. Ruby is my birthstone. Most of my jewelry tends to be red and I just love the boldness of it in general. I wanted a ring I could identify with.

    The blue opal in our engagement rings is a beautiful combination of blue and green (our favorite colors) and opal is my birthstone. We just wanted something unique and they are very much us.

    Mine is not a different color, but it is a different stone: a white sapphire for my birthstone. Before we got engaged I wanted it white because I wanted it to resemble a diamond, but now I regret that a bit and wish it were blue. My wedding band will be light blue aquamarine for his birthstone.

    No special meaning to the color other than I loved the warmth of the brown with the rose gold.

    Our's are very similar but mine is a garnet with rose gold. It looks kind of pink when the sun goes through it and it's so pretty.
    The color doesnt really mean anything except we wanted something non-traditional Smiley smile

    I have a Morganite. Nothing meaningful behind it, I just wanted something different that wasn't a traditional colorless stone!
