Does this site send emails to guests?

Mona, on March 7, 2012 at 7:47 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

We wanted to email our guests for "save the date" and to let them know about our Wedding Wire site but it does not appear to have that functionality. Are we missing something here?

Hi Jan! Welcome to WW! I do think that's possible, but I didn't use it. If you go up top and mouse over My Wedding, on the right hand side there's Mailbox. Then you click compose. I went in and looked at it and it seems you'd have to input the email addresses in the guest list somewhere. Hopefully someone who's used this can help you out more.

I don't think it does but I can tamper with mine a little and find out if it does Smiley smile

Edit: it does when you go to your wedding website to edit it, there is a share button but you have to click the *to* button and it will enter guest emails that you have entered.

Thanks folks. I had found the MAILBOX function but not the TO button. We are both pretty tech savy and use a lot of email etc. This is very very simple stuff. I was expecting something like Evite has. (Grumble, Grumble)

Anyway, both will work. We have friends who exported to their own mail account and then were able to control the theme. We may do that too. Thank you soo much for helping.

When you go to the drop down menu, you go to wedding website, like you would to edit it, then at the top of the bar there is a *share* option and it will pull up a page that looks like the one below Smiley smile sorry it isn't all pretty and stuff I agree it should have designs and stuff!

Yep. That is exactly what I found and I NEVER would have found it without you. For the "save the date", it may be exactly what we need.

I think we should make a post saying that WW should add stationary options for the email notification for the wedding website. Smiley smile Maybe we will get what we want? And it would make a cute save the date!!

Well, my thought is that their vendors sell stationary and NOBODY sells emails. Still, some announcements would be good. eWedding has mailing lists to keep people notified of what is going on. We have not sent anything from Wedding wire yet so we have some options. Trying to figure out what we want to do here. Weddings are complicated enough without having to port functionality to a different email.

I hate to say it but the more I play with this, the more I like it. I guess a quick suggestion on some stationary for email contact would be a simple addition. Thanks for your help. This is a pretty functional place.
