Does this make sense to anyone?

So this weekend I had my shower. It was great but some things happened also that weren't great as well this weekend. Can I get some opinions on them?

First, my cousin who is also a bridesmaid acted strange the entire time during the shower. My MOH and I were sitting together talking about hair. Long story short right now where we are hair people cannot do hair outside of their salons due to rules from their board; this does sound like it will be changing by next month. But I wanted to let them know that I have a back up place. I am paying for their hair to be done. My cousin said she might do her own hair; now I completely understand this if I wasn't paying for her hair but to me that came off as somewhat rude and ungrateful. She really didn't give a reason so I'm not sure I understand why she would do this?

Second (this one is a long one), my FSIL did not attend the shower and was home this weekend. On Sunday my FH gets texts from her husband; basically they got into a huge fight. Where things got super tense and she ripped his pictures out of their wedding photos, destroyed their garage, broke a tempered glass table that is used out on decks/ patios (and not a small one, a big one), threw lawn chairs at her husband. Her husband sent us pictures of everything. Then took their 2 daughters and left. She refused to answer the phone and when my FH texted her, she blamed him for what happened. Not even trying to follow that one. Her husband said that he was going to the police on her this time. She finally spoke with her dad and met him so the kids would be with him. We aren't really sure what is going on now. But my FFIL said during one of our phone calls to him that he wouldn't want them at the wedding and that he doubts they will come now. He said that he will make sure their daughters are their. We aren't really saying anything to anyone right now about this whole thing since things could change in the next 3 months. But honestly this behavior scares me, more than I want to admit. I'm not even sure how they could come back from this. My opinion is that they need to go their separate ways. What would you do in this situation, wait it out or I don't even know? Part of me wants to redo their invite just for the kids but that also seems silly. Can anyone give me any advice on this.

Ok. I thought I was the only one with that pet peeve since I posted this. I'm like this is like looking a gifted horse in the mouth thing. Honestly, I think it's because and I didn't know this until Saturday she wants to be with bf. I thought they had broken up to be honest. Since all her Facebook posts are how much she hates men. But I think she just wants to hang with him over this. I would like to point out for her 1st wedding I went with her and the rest of her bridal party to get ready. Although I was also only 16 and not really given a choice.

I realize the invite thing was silly, that was more of a joke last night to make my FH smile. It did work. I guess being sarcastic doesn't come across on here. But for now we are going to let my FFIL deal with them. Because somehow my FSIL blames my FH for this situation...

No, you are definitely not the only one with this pet peeve! I totally understand what you're saying. I'm not sure how your FH would be to blame for this based on what I understood from your post, but that's just a whole mess. I hope it doesn't get any more dramatic for you!

I don't either! We live in different states so not sure how that works! We want to send invites this coming week too. We feel weird sending one there, but we don't want to send them to the rest of the family and not include them. And my mom wonders why I drink wine lol, this drama is just too much sometimes.

That's just crazy, I don't see how that link works. I would feel weird sending one there, too, but I agree that it would be worse to leave them out as the only people in the family not getting an invite.

And haha I'm drinking wine rn while going through the forums! A glass at home every now and then never hurt anyone!

If we could delay it we would but we have some coming from out of state who need to make travel arrangements if they are coming. That is my plan for when I get out of work, my bottle of merlot is calling my name.

    1. Okay hair I would let go.... I’m sure there’s a reason. COVID probably is it. But there might even be more personal stuff with hair you never know !

    2. Humm yikes that’s a hard one. I agree with the PP. I wouldn’t say anything right now and just wait it out

I could tell you stories for days about my FH sister but I will say that my FSIL is extremely toxic and we do not keep in contact with her and if she was to try to come around we would get a restraining order because FSIL is just.... extremely toxic. There's no regrets and we once tried but it always comes back to the same drama and BS that is just really bad for your own mental health. Things are much more peaceful and its been a ongoing issue for so long the kids dont know them much because they dont see them anymore and we wont allow it. Every child thats grown up in that family (Including his sisters kids) ends up a trainwreck. FH was adopted and was treated like cr*p from day 1. IMO anyone who may be toxic to your well being isn't someone worthy of your time, from experience!!!!

Cousin-I don’t like people messing with my hair and wouldn’t want someone I’ve never met doing it. It sounds like you would have paid anyway to met minimum. Let that one go

FSIL-honestly you don’t want in middle of that. It sounds like she has issues-possibly drinking, drugs or mental. Let that one play out however it will go.

Ok, I'm willing to admit that there is some issues going on mentally. But she does not do drugs at all.
