Does the DJ MC also??

Hey all- I'm wondering if the DJ at your wedding is also MCing. I'm having a destination wedding in Punta Cana and the resort told me the DJ will not MC so we have to pay an additional $500+ (on top of the DJ being $1000 for 3 hours) if we want to have someone make announcements. Is this absurd?!...

Hey all- I'm wondering if the DJ at your wedding is also MCing. I'm having a destination wedding in Punta Cana and the resort told me the DJ will not MC so we have to pay an additional $500+ (on top of the DJ being $1000 for 3 hours) if we want to have someone make announcements. Is this absurd?!

(But the DJ package comes with a mic...so wtf is the mic for if he won't speak into it?! Lol)

I'm considering having a close friend that's a guest (if willing) to announce the bridal party and the dances and then maybe a bridal party member announce the cake cutting, etc.

Idk- can I do that? Or would you just pay the $500+ to have a man stand up there bored til he has to make an announcement?

    This is Our Dj package includes Dj & M.C. and many more stuff for $1,028 that's including an extra hour till 1am.

    Go elsewhere!!! A professional Wedding DJ IS your MC as well. This is crazy! If a DJ cant MC that means that are not skilled at weddings. That means they are a night club DJ. You need to hire a Professional Wedding DJ/MC that will coordinte with vendors, keep the flow of the night, orchestrate toasts and blessing, formal dances, inform guests of upcoming events AND play music. This is the most ludacris thing I have ever heard!

    Thanks for your input! I'm gonna look for other local DJ's who will also MC and coordinate the timeline! The resort charges us a $150 fee but it still will save us hundreds and be worth it to find someone who can do it all!

    I think the dj should do that. Otherwise you could record a playlist
