Does a deposit go towards the rate?

Bella, on August 27, 2019 at 12:58 PM Posted in Planning 0 10
Just curious in your experience does a deposit go towards the rates? Like is it a down payment? I'm going this weekend and one has a 250 deposit one is a 300 and one is 1000 deposit. I assumed it was a down payment but i was just curious what was your experience with this?

This will need to be a question to discuss with the venues/vendors. Most often the case a deposit is applied to final balance. However, many will not refund said deposit if the event is cancelled to make up for potential lost revenue.

It depends on the vendor, but they typically put the deposit toward your total.

I would say it more than likely goes towards the total rental amount, but definitely make sure beforehand.

Most likely it will be going towards the balance you owe, but double check with them. The only thing is that most placed if you cancel you will not get the deposit refunded.

Usually it goes to the total but they should explicitly tell you in the contract

Typically it does, but be sure to verify with them. I've seen some people talk about theor down payment being a security deposit, to which they owe in full still but get the deposit back after the event.

I had a $500 deposit on top of the $5250 venue. I owe 5750 in total and as long as there are no damages, I will get the $500 back after the event.

All of our vendors used our deposits towards our final total.

Our deposits were all 1st payments to the vendors and a set amount that was subtracted from the total cost.
