Does a corset help when dress is too tight?

Bella, on April 14, 2020 at 9:49 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5
Just curious what your experience with corsets? Im scared with this quarantine i'm gonna gain a few pounds or so since i cant go to the gym or go swimming or anything. Someone told me if the dress wont zip that a corset will fix it. I haven't checked my dress recently but ive been considering a corset just incase. I think corsets are pretty so im not against it. Just wondering about how much do they add or does it just depend on how much u want added? I have till october so i have time to lose any added weight but just incase. Just curious. My dress is a ballgown so the bottom is not an issue.

Corset style backs do allow for extra room if needed and can be laced as tight or as loose as you like. Most dresses can accommodate a corset style back or can be converted easily enough. They also photograph really well. Does a corset help when dress is too tight? 1

I have also seen zipper inserts that are a corset which could be an option also. if you search online you can find them.

If you don't want to get a corset put into your dress, there are tons of shapewear options that you can buy and wear under your dress! Any type of shapewear or corset should help with the dress feeling right.

The best thing about corsets is that they allow for wiggle room in the fit. However, if you are not familiar with wearing a corset, they may be uncomfortable. They really alter the way you stand, sit, and move. (I personally love them, but I also do a lot of classical theatre.)

Personally, I highly recommend them, but do check with your alterations team, to make sure the dress can be corseted.

I’ve been considering adding a corset back to mine. Luckily my wedding is far enough off that I should be able to lose the 10 lbs I’ve gained during this quarantine xD because none of my clothes really fit right now and it sucks haha
