DOC Cost

Paige, on September 30, 2017 at 1:28 PM Posted in Planning 0 25

I've heard a lot of great things about DOCs on WW and you guys have seriously convinced me to hire one! I was talking to my FH about it and he seems unsure. I know part of it is probably cost and do we really need one. Which I'm thinking yes!

How much are you paying for a DOC? I've started looking in my area (near Portland, OR) but I have no idea what is a "normal" amount to pay!

Thanks!

    Definitely get one.

I got quotes for several around $1200.

I finally landed my DOC for $800.

I am using Kindred Events in PDX. She is wonderful and offers a super reasonable DOC rate.

Mine is $1,000 (originally $1500, got bridal expo discount)

She's the DOC but we have unlimited communication, and she set me up with aisle planner (which I love). She takes over the planning 60 days before the event and sets up the timeline and communicates with the vendors. she facilitates the RD, and is with us all day, she is our concierge, will go pick up breakfast and drinks for the bridal party and sets everything up with her assistant and breaks everything down.

Some DOC's offer a la carte services and charge for only the select tasks you want them to manage. Best wishes!

Hey OP! I've got some info for you here:

Town & Country Weddings (OR) - $749-999 with additional add-ons available

    Bridal Bliss (OR/WA) - Day-Of $2k, Full Service $8500, Hourly rate $100

Luxe Event Productions (OR) - Day-Of $1200, Full Service, $3000

    WE Plan It (OR/WA) - Day-Of $1200, Full Service $3000

    Soleil Bliss Events (OR/WA) - Day-of $700

    Madeline Moore Events (OR/SoCal) - Day-Of $2k

    Simply Just Weddings (WA) - Day-Of $500

Your Perfect Bridesmaid (OR) - Day-Of $1200, Partial Coordination $1600, Full Service $2000, Hourly rate $100

    Adornment Events (OR) - Day-Of $1250, Partial Coordination $1965, Full Service $3496

I personally hired Soiree PDX to do my wedding and they were PHENOMENAL (cost was $2k). Would also recommend Bridal Bliss.

    Best of luck!

ETA: What FME said should be standard for all DOCs. I know that's the way Soiree operated for us and the way the Bridal Bliss operates with their clients as well.

I'm in Seattle. My month of/day of coordinator was $1320. We got a 10% discount because we were using a preferred venue and caterer. Our caterer referred her to us. She was amazing and did much more work than what we were expecting from a month of/day of coordinator. She also let us use her votive holders and candles and her hurricane vases (of varying heights) and floating candles for free.

My FH was against having a DOC when we first started talking about wedding plans. I posted about it early in our engagement and shared comments with him he agreed to hiring a DOC. We found one who we both really liked from the interview and our rate for the rehearsal and the full wedding day is under $300.

@Erica L Yes! My FH sees it as an unnecessary expense. FMIL had mentioned to us that we might have to stay after the wedding to help clean... Uhm no way in hell. My MOH also put a stop to that real quick haha

Most of the quotes we got were from $12-1800 range. I'm in KC so I'm sure that doesn't help you. We finally found one who is under $500, and I actually think she's going to work out much better than some of the more expensive ones. We had the clean up issue too. We didn't want to ask our friends and family to do that and we certainly don't want to. We were willing to pay our neighbor a few hundred dollars to drive out to the venue, load everything up and dump it in our garage. Once we talked to our coordinator, she agreed to do all of this herself included in her fees. We really had no idea how we would get a truck load of wedding shit back to our house, 45 min away. The weight off our shoulders with that alone was worth every penny. I am so sooooo glad we found our girl!

@MoreMoore I'm happy you found someone! I don't really have a problem setting up (although it definitely would be weight off our shoulders) but I'm not going to do our sparkler send off just to turn back around to go clean. Eff. That.

My FH was also against hiring a DOC until we spent a chaotic day with his family, haha. Ours is super cheap. She owns our venue so her services are $150 for the day of. She'll provide a timeline and also set up/break down

We found a venue that offers us one, for use with vendors that day for set up, etc. Before, when priced we found them 600-1500. The cheaper ones offered less services, though.

$1000 in Boston for month of coordination. We got a discount through a referral from a friend who had used her the year before for her wedding at the same venue - I believe she is regularly $1200. I got quotes from multiple people anywhere from 800-2500+.
