Do you think this would stain your wedding dress??

Victoria C. Hernandez, on December 9, 2010 at 4:33 PM Posted in Planning 0 14

These are kinda neat but I wonder if they would ruin everyones clothes.. How does the color disappear???

The magic of bubbles and the beauty of color have been combined to form Zubbles. When the dye is exposed to air, water, or pressure, it disappears, giving kids hours of fun (and you zero mess to clean)!

It apparently has to do with the molecular structure of the bubble solution http://www.wired.com/geekdad/2009/07/bubbles-zubbles-toys-and-troubles/

Just FYI, if the bubble liquid spills on someones clothes (even the regular kind) and sets for a while, it might stain anyway. The little bubbles popping against clothes may not do it but if a child (or inebrieated adult) spills some it might stain anyway.

I want colored bubbles! And yes, I think they would stain! Although, it's made for kids and what parent would buy bubbles for their child if it stained?

I didn't use bubbles at all because my sis went to a wedding in a silk dress and she told me the bubbles stained her dress, they were not even colored.

I took back all my bubbles to the store. They weren't missed.

Interesting bubbles! I would love to buy them for the grands to play with at their homes, of course. : )

@Alpha....Thank you! I am now scratching bubbles off my list.

It'sa water based solution with a dye that is neutralizedthrough oxidation. They have made it since the 1920s for use in gag pens and other novelties...no it will not stain your dress...but if your really worried, just put some of the solution on an extra piece of the dress fabric to test. Bubbles landing on your dress will probably make colored spots very briefly as the dye finishes oxidizing...but that might give an oppurtunity for a really cool picture.

Are you planning to leave in wedding dress or a different dress? I've seen many people change out of their wedding dress into something else when they leave and have bubbles blown or rice thrown, etc.

I wouldn't take the chance, but if you use them, definitely try them out first before the wedding day! Besides, couldn't the photographer "color" the bubbles in a picture if you really wanted them blue or purple? I would be too scared to ruin someone's dress or outfit :-p
