Do you really need to have an Ceremony program?

I hadn't even considered the option of not having them, but after reading through this thread, that is a great idea! We don't have a bridal party, and our ceremony will be very short and sweet, so I was kinda stressing about how to fill them out with more wording, etc. I'm glad you brought this up!

I bought the programs (i'm just suppose to type up the wording and print it out on the the paper provided) but I'm thinking about not doing the programs anymore!

Like a couple of the ladies, I'm going to do fan programs that will also double as party favors. Its going to be miserably hot in July, so they will help everyone keep cool. Also, I like having a program so I can find out who the bridal party is. If we had grown up together, it wouldn't be a big deal. But, his side will be strangers to my side and vice-versa.

Programs are necessary if you are having a full religious ceremony particularly if any portion of it will be in another language. Otherwise, i personally barely even glance at it and generally leave it behind.

I was originally going to have the ones the double as fans since our wedding is in July in Texas, but my FH would rather spend the money on something else. I think it all depends on what is important to you and if you want to put the money into them.
