Do you need a engagement party, wedding shower, rehearsal dinner and all that?

I've been reading up on alot of these forums and wedding etiquettecy. It seems like it's almost expected to have all of these wedding related events to go along with your wedding. We are trying to make it a special and classy day. But on a tight budget. We are paying for everything ourselves. And...

I've been reading up on alot of these forums and wedding etiquettecy. It seems like it's almost expected to have all of these wedding related events to go along with your wedding. We are trying to make it a special and classy day. But on a tight budget. We are paying for everything ourselves. And just wondering just how necessary everyone els felt it is to entertain all of these other wedding related events. -thank you

    We did not have an engagement party, nor do we plan on a rehearsal dinner. Wedding shower I know is to be planned by family but our date is 10/29 and so far no talk of that which I'm ok with. Totally do it how you guys want too.
