I think i k ow the answer to this, but we sent save the dates early in the planning process and were pretty liberal in doing so. However, there are a couple people we havent talked to since sending them (about 7 mths ago). At the same time, weve gotten close with others we would like to add to the list but were also more conscious of costs. How bad would it be to not send an invite to someone who got a save the date?

It's an unfortunate yes. I did them but it was more for the out of town delivery time line. I wanted to know how they took to get there.

You're supposed to invite them. The ONLY person who didn't get an invite to our wedding after receiving a STD is the estranged wife of one of the groomsmen.

We weren't going to do STDs, but my FMIL wanted them for their retired friends who like to plan vacations in winters and said I should send them to everybody, and that she would pay for them. So we're doing it Smiley smile

It would be bad. It's basically inviting someone and then saying "lol jk you're not invited".

This why I don't like STDs. Too much can happen. If you sent one, you're committed. Just hope this person declines.

You can't just uninvite someone after you already sent them the save the date. You can absolutely invite more who didn't get a save the date. I wouldn't of sent out save the dates that early for this reason. It's usually 6-7 months before
