Do you have to have groomsmen?

Mrs.White, on November 24, 2013 at 10:49 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6

I have 2 maids of honor and 3 bridesmaids. My fiancé doesn't want any groomsmen, he only wants his best man. Is it normal not to have groomsmen?

You can do whatever you want.it's your day.it all depends on how OCD you are about pictures and things matching.

Sometimes a best man is all a groom needs!!! A good photographer will make it look great regardless of how many in the bridal party. And the thing about groomsmen, they're a lot easier to add to the bridal party in case your FH changes his mind, than it would be adding a girl. We're 4.5 months until the wedding and my Hunny finally made up his mind on his groomsmen. ... And is still contemplating adding one. Ugh. Lol. He would have 10 if I let him!

Your attendants should be the people you are closest to. Expecting the bride and groom to have exactly the same number of people they are closest to is silly. And adding people you're not close to, just to keep things "even," is a recipe for disaster.

Sure. It's your wedding, you can make it unique to fit you and your FH. If that is how you want it then there is nothing wrong with that.

Sure. It's entirely up to you to decide who you want standing up with you on your wedding day.

@anna Please don't use "OCD" when you're not talking about actual obsessive compulsive disorder.
