Do you count vendors for food head count?

Evening Brides...quick question when doing head count, do you include your vendors? DJ, photography, DJ, etc???/ I know we will have at least 5-10ppl not show so I was thinking, they can just have those leftover meals vs adding 4-6 additional plates. What are you guys doing?

I don't get why anyone would begrudge giving the vendors a meal. Of course you are paying them to be there, but they need to eat and they are kind of stuck at your venue. Personally I want them to be well fed and happy so they can do their best job at my wedding.

I think people begrudge because it's become an industry standard that didn't use to occur back then nor doesn't really occur elsewhere. My job doesn't feed me a meal for free. I pack my lunch. My FH works night shift; he packs his dinner. Why can't they pack theirs? They probably pack their lunch the rest of the week when they are working at their office or even more so out of their own home or shop. I think it doesn't make sense to many people that's why they don't know what to do about it. But in any case it's become this stupid "standard".

Now this!!! The best comment I have heard on this thread. I am sticking to my original plan. I'm sure their will be food left. I will ask about a vendor rate but like you said in a mouth full.

Usually the caterer or venue will supply the venders with a less expensive meal that they just need to know how many for on the day of. However, I'm sure the venders would appreciate the upgrade to the food the guests are having. Either way, they get fed & you get the day you want. Remember though, happy venders tend to try to work harder for you to make sure things go according to plan.
