Do you bustle a dress with a chapel train??

Mrs. Turner2B, on June 4, 2010 at 8:37 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

My dress has a chapel train and I'm wondering if it can be bustled or if I am going to have to wear it like it is all night. I guess I wouldn't mind but then again what if I trip on it? It just doesn't seem like enough material for a bustle though.

Here' s the back. (not on me) I didn't get a pic of the back of me in it. Smiley sad

My dress has the same length train, and I'm just wearing it down the whole night. I'm also not really that worried about damaging it either. Its a good question!

Most people don't. It would be a very small bustle, and would more then likely take away from your dress.

You can do an under-bustle thats where they tuck it under instead of have the bustle on the outside.

My train is a little longer than that. I was to get a bustle, but my wedding planner said she could pin it up. She pinned it under a little bit and looks fine. She said don't waste money on a bustle. I don't want to trip dancing. I don't want it in my way. I was glad she suggested that, because I didn't want to spend anymore money. LOL

I wouldn't. I think a train would look awkward. You should be able to move around without one.

My dress has the same length train. I would leave it down, but my wedding is outside and I'm afraid it will get dirty at the reception so I'm going to get a cute white dress to change into after our first dance.

Ok..so, now I have to decide...a. get an underneath bustle (gotta see what that looks like first b. leave it down...(but wonder if it would get in the way or if i could trip on it while dancing) I'm having an indoor reception so it may work...my dress comes in July so I will walk around in it at home and see what I think. Thanks girls!!
