Do wedding planners & officiants get invited to the rehearsal dinner?

Hi all! Due to our multiple postponements from covid, we had to change venues so our officiant and wedding planner stuck with us through the whole thing and are traveling 3.5 hours to our wedding (originally it would have been in the city where they're based). They will both be there for the rehearsal and I just had a panic - should they be invited to our rehearsal dinner? We have a big wedding party and are including spouses so we have 38 which is already a lot but wasnt sure if they are expecting to be invited or if thats traditional. Any input is greatly appreciated, as its this Friday!! Thank you!!

We don't have a planner so I can't speak to that, but we're inviting our officiant to ours (he's the grooms cousin though). Generally the rule of thumb is anyone who is involved at the rehearsal gets invited to the dinner. I would just ask them if it's something that they traditionally attend, or if it's something they'd even want to attend. If they don't know your wedding party/family personally they may not want to anyway.

According to old school etiquette, both receive invites to the rehearsal dinner

If they're at rehearsal, they should absolutely be invited to the dinner. In this situation especially I would be sure to include them
