Do wedding bubbles expire?

Mavis, on February 7, 2010 at 12:24 PM Posted in Planning 0 12

My friend had her wedding last year (2009). She still has a ton of bubbles left and is letting me use them for my July 2010 wedding. Do bubbles expire? I'm concerned that the liquid will discolor or the consistency would change and stain/stick my white wedding dress when guests blow them at me.

I wouldn't think so. Just keep them out of sunlight and check them before the wedding. If all else fails I have heard the the $ store (maybe Dollar Tree) has them for cheap.

Dollar tree currently has them 9 for a $1 but I think they are trying to sell out of them and go down to 6 for a $1.

Do you think I can still use my friend's bubbles?

I think that they would probably be fine. If you have them in your possession already, I would try them out to make sure the solution didn't become "flat". As far as the stickiness or coloration, I would try it out on a t-shirt you don't care about and see what happens..I know it wouldn't be the same fabric, but if it ruins your t-shirt, then you know not to risk it. Hope this helps!

I agree with loveat1stsite! Make sure they're not "flat" I too am getting married in July 2011 and saw the bubbles at the dollar store and wanted to get them, but my FH reminded me of some bubbles we had around the house that we didn't use for a while and when his little cousin tried to they didn't "work"

I bought mine at dollar tree and they are great. I know it sounds cheap and can't possibly look good but they do. Saves money and you could spend it somewhere else.

As a kid I kept bubbles for years so im sure you are probably fine but keep them out of the sun because that will probably discolor the containers more than anything. Plus take a look at them and if you have doubts about a month before pitch them and go buy your own... but I would use them if it was me

If they are only a year old they should be fine. I'm sure after several years the liquid might evaporate but after only a year they should be just fine.

FYI bubble liquid if spilled directly onto your dress will likely leave a 'stain' that will need to be professionally cleaned. But I don't think the small amount that a bubble would have made by bursting on your dress would do anything at all.
