I am wanting to know if it would be weird not to have a cake at all? It doesn't really matter to us, we were initially only getting a cake because everyone does. What are your thoughts on a wedding with no cake?

This is a good idea too. My nickname was cookie monster at my last job because I always had a pack of cookies in my pocket. Lol

Hey, my fh and I are doing a one tier cake and underneath that, we will have a cupcake tower. I hope for us to also have some other desserts, like cheesecake as well.

I feel like wedding cake is okay. It has been at every wedding that I have gone to. I see all the eidea where there are other desserts and as a guest, I would really enjoy the change. We are having cake because my fiance wanted it. But we are having cookies, as well (my coice)!

We didn't have cake but desserts from a bakery for our brunch wedding. In addition we had bud grandma make homemade Italian cookies since she insisted for tradition. My mom made Filipino dessert and brought Chinese dessert. It was a nice personal way to bring our cultures into the wedding and have them contribute since they wanted to.
My cousin had a wedding where she had a cookie table and asked guests to make a batch, there were over 10 kinds.
I think at least give a sweet favor since some like a bit of sweet to end the night.

Any type of dessert is fine.

Feel free to skip favors, ceremony programs & menus (if guests RSVP’s their meal choice). That may save a little money. 😊

I think you'll be totally find without having a wedding cake. Yes, people are used to having some cake at many festivities. I have a friend who didn't have a cake at her wedding. With all the commotion of drinking and dancing no one really noticed that there wasn't one.

Totally ok if you didn't have one! A lot of people don't even eat it because they leave by then or too full. Like what everyone else said you can opt to have cookies for far cheaper

I would sub cake for another dessert. But im not sure what exactly would be cheaper? Of course it’s cheaper to buy nothing. Maybe serve sheet cake or cheesecake from costco as previous ppl mentioned. Or maybe a candy bar or ice cream bar. If its really not in ur budget just don’t include desserts at all.

Kellie, I love your ideas! Pedestal cake stands are very popular to put wedding cakes on. I see in many bridal magazines, cake bakers donning their double or triple tiered creations sitting pretty on what looks like a cake stand that most of us have in our kitchen cabinets. Someone’s suggestion of a Walmart cake could be a good option for savings. You could probably have a dessert table with a small cake for around 300.00.
If you are good at baking, you could make your own cake as well.

You don't need a wedding cake specifically, but you should serve your guests some kind of dessert. There are tons of cost-friendly dessert options.

I would do cupcakes $1 a cupcake and you could just do $100 or less how many people you have. Some people don’t like sweets that’s what we’re doing.

It wouldn't bother me, as a guest, at all if there were no cake.

We're having a single tier cake for the head table and 4 different flavors of cupcakes for everyone else. This only cost me $7/dozen and the cake is a gift from the baker ❤
