Do MOBs wear corsages?

Should a MOB wear a corsage or carry flowers? Is it a faux-pas for them to not have flowers at all? My mom doesn't really want to carry or wear flowers but doesn't want to commit a wedding faux-pas! Help!

We did because people that FH invited (either friends or extended family) may not necessarily know who is my mom (same with my side with FH's mom). That said, my florist was kind enough to use magnets instead of pins for the corsage so it would poke holes in either mother's dress
