Do it yourself questions to a vendor

Jennifer, on September 23, 2019 at 6:43 PM Posted in Planning 0 3
Me and my fiance Vinny got into a contract with a beautiful venue that includes everything however, we received news and can no longer do a pricey wedding so we are looking into doing a “DIY” wedding. I have NO IDEA what questions I should be organizing to ask or even think about. Does anyone have any advice?? I am afraid the “DIY” will come out to be just as pricey as a venue that includes everything

I'd say your first step is connecting your venue to get out of your contract ASAP. You Erik likely lose your deposit but hopefully nothing else (depending on the contract.) Some contracts require you to pay a certain percentage passed a certain date, up to the full amount but that is usually if you're very close to the date which it doesn't sound like you are.

Welcome to the WeddingWire community Jennifer! I’m sorry that you have to change your wedding plans. As Casey has already said, you should contact your venue as soon as possible to discuss breaking your contract. Hopefully, you will not be charged more since your date is still quite a while away.

It’s totally to keep your wedding within your budget, you just have to be strategic about how you spend your money. A great place to start is with the WeddingWire Budget Tracker. This will help you break your budget down into different vendors and services.

Have you thought about what style of wedding you would like to have?
