Title says it all... I am struggling trying to find things or think of ideas for this. Do I really need it?? I think it is just more of random tradition that I know nothing about, but I'm hoping it is one of those "you don't have to if you don't want to" type things. Is it supposed to be bad luck if...

I think it is just more of random tradition that I know nothing about, but I'm hoping it is one of those "you don't have to if you don't want to" type things.

Is it supposed to be bad luck if you don't have those things!?

Thanks for your help!!

    @B.roo- yeah, that's what I'm realizing.

I had an idea in my head and typed it out real fast; I certainly won't be doing that again. I just wanted it to be more of a general question and not very specific. But definitely would prefer ideas on the something old, new, borrowed, and blue and not the necessity of specific things... MY BAD for improper wording.

Anyways, I found my answer. moving on.....

Also, one last thing... I do find it funny that obviously some people didn't think it was silly enough to provide a silly answer and did answer the wording I was trying to say because they responded to the the tradition/superstition thing. Other people chose to be "snarky".

Can't please everyone!! Oh well Smiley smile

My mother didn't do it and she's been happily married to my father, for almost 40 years. I didn't do it and the two brides, whose bridal parties I've been in, didn't do it either. As my mother would say, "another archaic and superstitious" thing, about weddings.

I'm wearing my sapphire ring my mom gave me for my 16th birthday as my blue. My old is my wedding band, it was my grandmothers. My new is everything else. I don't have narrowed yet.

I love the tradition behind it so I was pretty creative finding my items.

My something old: pearl necklace my mother has had forever

    New is my gown

Blue is a bracelet FH got me specifically for it

Borrowed is my favorite, diamond earrings that my matron OH got for her 20th anniversary.

Each is special and holds a meaning to it.

That's what the tradition is for me anyway Smiley smile

I sort of forgot about this wedding tradition and just nixed it has my date grew closer and closer.

If it causes you stress, don't do it.

I don't think of it as a superstition (marriage is doomed if you don't have the items), but as a tradition.

My new was my shoes. My old, borrowed, and blue was a hanky that one g'ma gave my other g'ma. I stuck it in my clutch and forgot to carry it down the aisle. So, it shows in some pics (after I remembered it) and not in others. It did not jink our marriage -- we'll celebrate 29 years in Oct.
