Do i need to have place cards if i have this? (pic attached)

I am not sure what the point is of people taking a placard with their name on it and bringing it to their table - this is what I am using for people to find their seats. Do I need a individual placard for each guest if I am using this “find your seat” board?

    If you are doing a buffet-style reception, what you have pictured will be perfect! The reason my fiancé and I are doing place cards is that there are several different meal options available, and we want the waitstaff to know who is getting what.

    We're doing something similar! As an added touch, we're placing these at each seat. Makes it seem a little personal?
