Do i need a Bridal Shower?

My sister in law did one with friends as a "suggestive" shower, and the family threw one where we talked, ate, and swapped recipes etc. Gifts were involved but not necessary. It was nice to get together and talk about "boys!"

I don't need one, but I'm going to still have one. For me it's just a fun excuse to get together with all the women of the family and have a fun girly party. Honestly traveling up to WI to see everyone for the shower will probably cancel out the cost of any gifts I'll receive so it's not like I'm in it for the free stuff.

It's not your job to worry about "what people would bring". That's the hostess's job. Your job is to show up, and be showered with love from your friends & family. Enjoy it.

I really don't want one because I pretty much have everything I need....I love the stock the bar party idea but FMIL is so conservative and christian she would be very turned off about that idea for a party...my sis had an idea to do a double shower since our weddings are a month apart but she wants it in nyc which I know most of my friends wouldn't come out to the city so I don't know about that one....I could really care less for it but if they want to throw me one I won't stop em but I'm hoping me saying "no it's cool we don't need one" they will just listen....

You don't have to! I know some ladies who have done holiday themes showers! I brought all Thanks giving stuff for her bc it was my favorite holiday and she got alot of xmas stuff! It was nice for her since she had all the essentials but the holdiay stuff was fun!
