Do I give favors to each person, or the couple?

Emilyb35, on February 21, 2017 at 8:21 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 44

We are giving out mini maple syrups for our favors, and they are a little on the pricey side so I was wondering if I can give them to the couple or do I have to give them to each guest?

In your case(with these favors) I'd definitely do each guest.

I was factoring in each guest but I was also thinking of placing them in a basket on a table instead of each place setting.

    Each.

    Or skip them.

We thought about doing favors, but it's a waste of money and unnecessary added stress

Each guest, but if price is an issue, just skip them.

Honestly, we skipped them...mainly because we left them at the house amid the hustle and bustle. You can completely skip them if it takes a load off.

Oh Shelby some of your IDEAS are quite interesting.

I am not saying you are going to fail. But your ideas of self catering and favors are ridiculous

Oh! To go with the waffles!

    Get a caterer.

Skip it. You've already hosted your guests with adult beverages, a multi-course dinner, and entertainment for the evening. You'd be shocked by how many favors are left behind. Seriously, a shot of maple syrup will end up in pantry...for years. Save your money.

Centerpiece it's a brunch wedding. Her guests are getting a cold waffle and omelet bar.

    If I'm not mistaken, this isn't a brunch wedding. It's a breakfast-for-dinner wedding at 6.

Same Shelby? Seriously.....your thinking about wedding favors on a $2000 budget for 150 people. People are going to seriously side eye you for having friendors from FH'S work cater but the have an extra $300 at least for wedding favors, especially if they are having omelets and waffles for dinner

What? Seriously? A cold waffle and an omelette bar? And I assume a coffee bar is the only bar serving her guests. Are the guests expected to use their maple syrup shots on their cold waffles? If that's the case, OP, give every guest two favors.

Wait a minute, I just read MrsNerd's comment. OP, are you really serving this cheap, light meal to guests attended a dinner reception? For shame. You can't be serious...you really cannot be serious. You do know what they'll all think, right? And you're worried about the price of maple syrup shots? Serve these people dinner, or cut your guest list.

    Oh she's serious Centerpiece

    And yes Mrs.Nerd you're correct.

I can't keep all these double rings straight tonight

OMG...it's embarrassing to even think about. What people will do to bulk up the guest list just so they receive envelopes of cash is shameful. Again, I have to ask, where is the pride?

OP, if you are having a reception at dinner time, serve dinner. How can you even think of waffles, eggs, and sweating out the non-issue of maple syrup shots? And please, the "we love breakfast" deal isn't going to fly at an evening wedding. Just be honest and have your reception at Denny's, and if you do, at least host the "Grand Slam" breakfasts.
