Do I Apply for Marriage License in County I Live in or Getting Married in?

I live in Dayton, OH, but am getting married in Grand Rapids, MI. I can't find a clear answer on where I have to get my license. It seems like it should be MI because that is where I am getting married, but I am a resident of Dayton OH, so shouldn't I get my license here? I'm so confused! Thanks in...

This varies widely by state. The easiest thing to do is call both county clerks and see what they think.

FSS, the snarkiness comes from multiple questions a day that could EASILY be answered by googling. You google Grand Rapids Michigan and then you call the number for vital statistics. People on a forum, unless they got married there, can't tell you anything reliable about licensing in another state. I can't even definitively tell my NJ brides what they need to know about their city because every town is a little different.

You find the government site. You call them. You don't rely on online information.

    It's really not that hard.

    And we're not ugly.

    Flagged.

No one called you ugly, Celia. When I referenced the great community we have here, you're one of the regulars I was actually thinking of, go figure.

    Thank you, HB.

I don't think there was anything ugly said here actually. But honestly, this is a question that best answered by a nice leisurely google search. That's all people were saying.
