Do guests actually visit websites?

Michelle, on April 23, 2021 at 12:00 PM Posted in Planning 1 14
If you have a website listed on your save the date, how many guests actually visit and utilize the service? As opposed to say everything on a full paper invitation set? Was it worth it to put one together or did guests still ask you for information?

I only listed our wedding website on our invitations. The website we have is just for information and RSVPing. There’s not much for them to see on there other than that, so it didn’t really make sense to us to put it on our save the dates. People did comment on how easy it was for them to rsvp do that was cool. Others said they thought the website was cute, but that’s about it.

Our guests did. We put it on our save the dates and we had several guests visit it. We also did online RSVP’s through our website. So when it came to that part, they had no choice.

I know guests visited our website because we had information on there that we did not include on our media, plus the only RSVP option for us was via our website. But even prior to RSVPing we had info on there that guests referred to.

I am sure this is a generational/class thing. Most of our guests are in their 30s who have used the internet for most of their lives and have professional jobs where they are at a computer at least some of the time. Its possible that older guests or guests who have more hands-on or field based jobs may be less likely to look up information on a wedding website.

We have also used email to communicate with our guests (we did digital STDs and then used email to communicate about Covid) so have linked our wedding website for additional info in some of our emails to guests.

As a wedding guest I always look at couple's wedding websites and find it really unusual if someone doesn't have a website.

Our guests have been looking at our website! We've had family members and friends tell us that they love it and it's very useful! We've actually had 2 gifts purchased on our registry already, and our wedding isn't until Jan. 2022! We included it on our STDs, and we're also having it on our invitations/detail cards.

As a guest, I really enjoy them. It's a great way to know the couple more if they have an 'our story' section, and I love looking at the photos they post! I also like the fact that it's a one stop shop for everything, I can purchase something from their registry, get the location and directions AND RSVP online...win!

My guests haven’t been looking much, but we also don’t need details much because they've all already have visited our house and no ones really out of state. I’ve been sharing some updates but it’s more for my SO 😂

Our guests are visiting ours and I love it. I'm a very visual person and always go to the couple's wedding website for fun. We're using ours to collect RSVPs and offer details since a lot of our guests live out of state. I think they're cute.

I have a website sets up, some older guests still called my parents and asked questions even though they are supposed to RSVP online. I think it's a great future for the younger generations. I tell a brief story of how we met and how we got engaged on there since not everyone had met the groom.

We a having a destination wedding, and since everyone will be traveling there was a lot of info to share. Some guests didn't use it and still asked questions after we sent our STDs, but then I'd just send them the link to the wedding website. Now that we have our invitations out I started getting RSVPs really quickly so I think it's pretty convenient for people. Plus, people lose pieces of paper but they can't lose a website. These days people are glued to their smartphones so I thought it was just more practical, better for the environment, and let us spend that extra money on other things.

We only did digital RSVP, so people visited. Also, we had our registry there, including one only through the Knot, so anyone who gave off that registry certainly clicked through.

I’ve only been invited to one wedding with a website & I loved it! It was so great to have everything in one place. I am the WORST about rsvp’ing, but website was so easy how could I not? Loved that the registry was right there too! “Might as well go ahead and check that off the list while I’m here.” And the little introductions to the wedding party (complete with short stories about how the couple knows them) was really sweet & I actually enjoyed reading those. And even though I still had the invitation, I went back to the website to check location and start time, etc. it was easier just to pull it up on my phone because it was in my browsers history.

I really would rather not do a website because it’s just one more thing to do and I have no idea if ppl will actually use it...but I’ve decided to go ahead and do it based on my own experience 🤷🏻‍♀️

Our guests are visiting it because we are doing digital invites,RSVP , we don't want them to add names, especially since we're hosting a kid-free wedding and we are not allowing any plus 1 (our wedding party members are in a serious relationship and are our sisters and brothers, so they know my (or her) family members! Plus: ALL extended family members, friends, coworkers and parent's friends we're inviting know at least 3 other guests, so a plus 1 is not necessary in this situation).
And we put some infos on our website: directions, room blocks, etc ...
