Do couples get one wedding favor or two?

the Grooms, on August 25, 2016 at 10:05 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 27

We have a local chocolate/candy shop here in Knoxville, and I am wanting to get mini boxes of assorted chocolates as wedding favors. The boxes are a lot of fun with city related quotes and pictures. A lot of our guests are OOT, and we thought it would be a neat idea. Anyways, I'm not sure if I should get a box for every guest or just one for couples. Would you and your FH take 1 or 2 boxes?

The boxes have 12 assorted chocolates.

Edible favors should be one per person.

ETA: I didn't realize this was a serious BOX of chocolates. I would say one per couple.

I did bread and jam as a favor and chose to give each person one, it was easier that way. Is it possible that they can special order smaller boxes of 4 or 6 pieces?

Usually one per couple but that's a lot. Is there a way to do 1 chocolate per guest in mini boxes?

You can probably do one per couple since its 12 pieces of chocolate.

They do have a smaller box with just 6 chocolates, but for $2 more you get double the amount.

Favours are usually per person but with 12 chocolates that a lot lol. I think per couple is a tad weird too.

Maybe a box of 6 is best. Yeah there is value in getting more but you could save that money instead. Otherwise, if you really want to do 12, I still think per person is best.

Haha you seem more excited about the chocolates. Personally if I were with my fiancé at your wedding, I wouldn't want to share, I'd want my own box. But I LOVE chocolate!

    One per couple is reasonable.

@ VC, yeah it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if a bunch of boxes got left behind Smiley smile

I'm in TN too! Except I'm in middle TN, just had to say it, Yay!! I say one per person per box, if you do it per couple, I'm not sure how you would go about delivery of favors. So one box per person.

For a box of 12 chocolates, one per couple is good enough. I think the 12 pk are a better idea and more romantic since you are giving it to the couple instead of the 6 pk. And for as for the extra $2, you would be buying less packages, anyways. I would say go for itSmiley smile that is a really nice way to treat your guests. Can I come? Haha;-) I love chocolate, especially Oreos.

With favors generally, I think it depends on what it is and whether or not the couple lives together (FH and I each received a nautical bottle opener from SIL's wedding before we moved in together, otherwise she would've given us one).

For a box that big, I think one per couple is fine.

Will there be children at your wedding? Will each single person get their own box? Just things to think about!

Initially I thought 1 per person but say you said there were 12 in a box so I'd say 1 per couple would be fine

I'd also say one per couple.

Solo guests should get their own. Perks of being single Smiley smile

I think the kids should have a separate favor (maybe just the Oreo) if you have little ones coming. I wouldn't be excited about my kid getting a box of chocolates to themselves.
