Do all wedding dresses feel cheap? Or is it just me?

After trying on several dresses at bridal stores, I felt there were just simply overpriced for the material of the dress. I just couldn’t logically justify spending that much on a dress I was only going to wear a few hours and then tuck it in the back of a closet. I decided to buy off Amazon and spend the difference on a nice honeymoon. I’m am so happy with my decision!

It definitely depends, I got my dress from DB, it feels of good quality and is comfortable but some of the other dresses I tried on had a cheaper feel, and as someone else mentioned they carry so much satin which I also hate ..but I was happy to find the one and didn’t need to go anywhere else. I am not using DB for alterations though and my seamstress said she did really like my dress and was happy with the material but that she was initially nervous when I said it was from DB.

My dress is a Pronovias and I feel like I could wear it everyday it’s so comfortable

Mine absolutely didn't feel cheap, but it was a bit scratchy under the arms because of the beading on the bodice. I think lace and beading are typically not super comfortable fabrics to wear. If it helps, though, I didn't notice the beading at all on my wedding day!

You're definitely not crazy! My mom & I stopped in to DB just to see if it was worth making an official appt. Browsing at the low quality dresses (including bridesmaid) was a waste of time.

I really think it depends on the DB you go to. I went to an older store, it was a bit run down and their selection of dresses was disappointing. I went to a brand new one, and I found my dress there! My dress is beautiful, soft, and comfortable! I understand wanting to go to other places than DB though. DB definitely has cheap dresses, but they also have gorgeous, quality dresses.

I'd keep the material in mind too. To me, some of the thinner lace and tulle feel really cheap. I bought an Essense of Australia gown and I think it's very well made. Keep looking You'll know when you've found the one.

How did you get them to let you return it? They didn't let me return mine.

I had a Vera Wang from DB and it felt amazing. Maybe just the material you keep ending up in or the brand.

Update: I took the group advice and tried out a few more places, and I was able to find a beautiful dress that was under budget and that made me feel amazing! And it does not feel cheap I CANT BELIEVE I FINALLY SAID YES!
